Shannon holds over 22 years of public accounting experience, along with 4 years of Sarbanes-Oxley consulting experiences for private and public companies of various industries. She has a proven track record of effective cross-functional leadership, possesses a solutions-based take-charge approach and considers client satisfaction her highest priority. Shannon has mastered a risk-based approach to client projects and is able to manage and motivate dynamic teams.
Prior to joining the Kranz team, Shannon was a Managing Director at a Bay Area consulting firm specializing in SOX and Data Analytics where she led projects assisting public and private clients in Sarbanes-Oxley Internal Control scoping, documentation, testing, and remediation efforts, identifying financial process improvements, conducting audit readiness efforts, and other accounting related matters such as the oversight of segregation of duty analyses. Additionally, she gained operational accounting experience through her efforts in leading the daily internal control team.
Shannon also spent 23 years at Deloitte & Touche serving the last 7 years as an audit partner/director for focusing on life sciences, technology, health care, venture capital funds, private equity, consumer business and manufacturing industries for both public and private entities. She served clients ranging from pre-revenue start-ups to multinational companies with complex challenges. Shannon’s expertise included purchase accounting, merger and acquisition due diligence activities, IPO work, reverse mergers, carve-out audits and has worked on SEC filings associated with securities and bond offerings, debt refinancing and other business matters . While at Deloitte, Shannon served as a subject matter resource for audit teams specific to Company tax provisions, a member of the quality control review partner for employee benefit plans, and a member of the quality assurance team for selective multinational SEC entities.
Originally from the mid-west, Shannon has lived in the Bay Area for over 15 years. She enjoys spending time with family, outdoor activities, and cheering on the University of Kentucky Wildcats during college basketball season. Go Cats!
