Juan joined Kranz & Associates in February 2023 as a Fund Controller located in Colorado. In addition to his initial finance career, he brings over 10 years of alternative investments accounting experience to the team, with the last 4 years working on private equity and venture capital clients at Ultimus Leverpoint, preceded by Aduro Advisors.
In addition to his fund administration experience, Juan also was an Audit Manager for 4 years at Richey May’s alternative investments practice in Denver, CO, where he worked on approximately 150 yearly audits of hedge funds, private equity and venture capital clients. Prior to that, he was a controller at a renewable energy startup in Boulder, CO.
Juan has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de los Andes (Bogota, Colombia), a Master’s in Public Administration from New York University, passed level I of the CFA exam and is an active CPA in Colorado and New Jersey.
In his free time, Juan likes to enjoy the outdoors with his wife through rock climbing, skiing, hiking, and running. He also enjoys traveling and reading.
