We’re thrilled to highlight our CFO, Nancy Bush. Get to know her journey, what motivates her every day, and how she supports clients through growth and change.
What is your job title?
CFO
What is your hometown?
I live in Menlo Park, California.
What is your alma mater?
I went to school at the University of Georgia. I grew up on a farm in Georgia.
What are your favorite things to do outside of the office?
Travel, hike, garden, play with our three Labradors, spend time with family, and participate in community work.
How has your background impacted your experience as a consultant?
I love helping people grow their businesses and their careers.
What’s a typical workday like for you?
Early-morning check-ins with clients, midday exercise to refresh my perspective, and afternoon assessments of progress, wrapping up with executive teams.
What motivates you to wake up and go to work every day?
Asking, “How can I help?” It’s fun to see people smile and to help solve tough challenges.
What kind of work have you been doing?
I’ve worked with tech companies for most of my career and with high-growth startups over the last 15 years. There’s always something new and challenging.
Where do you believe you deliver the most value to your clients?
Building processes and teams that scale with growth.
How do you organize environments with a lack of reporting infrastructure or inefficiencies?
I inspire folks to build a clear vision and a team. That can be as simple as learning how to reconcile an account or creating a board or investor deck that clearly conveys business progress. Helping teams understand and adapt to AI in the workplace is especially exciting as well.
What’s your process like?
I stay in close communication with people and offer frequent touchpoints of appreciation and guidance. I played a lot of sports and see myself as a coach. You learn that everything is preparation for a new play, a new day, a new game. I also love celebrating every success, no matter how small. It’s easy to get caught up in the moment and forget how much progress is getting done.
