Employee Spotlight: Andrea Tiller

Celebrating the Women of Kranz

March is Women’s History Month – at Kranz, we’re celebrating the outstanding women leaders on our team.

Andrea Tiller leads the Emerging Growth Practice at Kranz and brings experience as both a private company Startup CFO and public company CFO. She is a master of both technical and operational aspects of the CFO role.

What woman inspires you and why

There are so many! In life: Harriet Tubman, Golda Meir, Greta Thurnberg – probably the “Iron Lady of Israel” is at the top of my list. I met her when she toured the U.S. to raise money for Israel (and I named my cat Moshe Dayan). Golda Meir was a leader of strong character, who was known for her honesty and directness. She was a pathfinder as the first woman Prime Minister, but I love her even more for her development of a “kitchen cabinet” – a construct which I use to this day. Her life touches my heart.

What qualities make a great leader?

Courage, integrity, humility, optimism, transparency, collaboration, and respect.

How have you managed to be successful both professionally and personally?

Ha! I think my life is the perfect illustration of “when life knocks you down, get back up”! I think we sometimes forget that no one’s life is a Facebook post; we all screw up, fail, get knocked on our asses. It isn’t always easy to come back. Its often soul-crushing, painful, intimidating, and fearful. It often takes time. BUT YOU CAN DO IT! The next great opportunity is just around the corner, so rise to meet it.

What advice would you give the next generation of female leaders?

Find the intersection of what you are great at doing, how you can make the world a better place, and what gives you joy, and pursue it with passion and purpose.
